Our First Archimedean Screw

Mann Power’s first Archimedean Screw! Howsham Mill has been restored for use as an environmental study centre. The hydro scheme includes both a Screw and a restored waterwheel from the millhouse.
The scheme provides power for the restored building, an income to support the project into the future and will serve as a demonstration of the possibilities for renewable energy generation using ancient and modern technologies side by side.
